International Non-Violence Day

School of Allied Health Sciences, VIMS Hospital Campus, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation – Deemed to be University, Salem. The National Cadet Corps (5 TN AIR SQN, TECH NCC, Salem), proudly organized a remarkable event titled: “Harmony in Formation: Non-Violence Logo Formation. On the occasion of International Non-Violence Day 2025. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean of Allied Health Sciences and Convener of the event, the program successfully showcased the spirit of peace and non-violence through a symbolic logo formation by our enthusiastic NCC cadets.


Mega Blood Donation Drive

Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University), Salem.On the occasion of the Mega Blood Donation Drive, the Red Ribbon Club, National Service Scheme & APEX SDG successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp on 17th September 2025 to commemorate the Raktadan Amrit Mahotsav 2.0 Programme – World’s Biggest Campaign.The program was held at SAHS, VIMS Hospital Campus, Salem, and witnessed enthusiastic participation. We were honored to have Dr. V. Shasi, Medical Officer, Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital, Salem, as our Chief Guest for the occasion.More than 50 students voluntarily donated blood, contributing towards saving lives and spreading awareness about the significance of blood donation.This initiative truly reflected the spirit of service,compassion, and social responsibility among our students and staff.


Cleanliness Drive – Swachhata Pakhwada 2025

The School of Allied Health Sciences, Salem, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), SAHS Youth Club, and Bhumi Club, successfully organized a “Cleanliness Drive – Swachhata Pakhwada 2025” on 15th September 2025.

The event commenced with the Swachhata Pledge, followed by a cleanliness drive starting from the VIMS Hospital Entrance to Kaapi Stop. During the drive, approximately 70 kilograms of waste were collected and responsibly handed over to the Seeragapadi Corporation for proper disposal.


Road Safety Awareness Program

School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation (DU), Salem. The Road Safety Club & National Service Scheme of SAHS, Salem, in association with the Salem City Police organized a Road Safety awareness program under the theme of SADAK SURAKSHA MITRA (???? ?????????? ?????? ???????). Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean & Director – AHS honored the chief guests Mrs. Ashwini, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hasthampatti Range, Salem. As a part of program awareness activity was conducted at Fairlands Traffic signal, Fairland Police Station Near. Tree sapling were distributed to the public people who followed the traffic rules such as wearing the Helmet in two wheelers, seat belt in cars. In addition, road safety awareness notice were distributed. To promote safer driving practices, head light sticker was affixed to all motor vehicle & provided reflector sticker to the traffic police. To make more interesting SAHS students played a Mime show about traffic rules & awareness on safety riding of two wheelers. 


Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme

School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation – Deemed to be University, Salem, in association with the State Institute of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj (Government of Tamil Nadu), District Panchayat Office,  Salem, APEX SDG, & Saraswathi Ammal Educational Social Welfare & Charitable Trust, successfully organized the Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme 2025 under the Revamped Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RRGSA) scheme.The programme was held on  Dr. ASG Auditorium, School of Allied Health Sciences Campus, Salem. The event brought together students and faculty members to explore opportunities in entrepreneurship & rural development.The programme commenced with the Welcome Address, followed by the Keynote Address delivered by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean & Director, School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU, Salem, who emphasized entrepreneurship as a powerful driver of youth empowerment, rural development & sustainable economic growth.The highlight of the event was the Guest Lecture Series, featuring eminent speakers: Mr. K. Saravanan, Managing Trustee – spoke on entrepreneurship for social transformation & rural upliftment. Mr. A. Mubarak Ali, Entrepreneur – shared his entrepreneurial journey & practical strategies for enterprise building. Mr. C. Mani, Motivational Speaker – energized the participants with a session on youth leadership, confidence & innovation. Mr. A. Senthil Murugan, Financial Awareness Expert – highlighted the crucial role of financial literacy & planning in entrepreneurship.The event witnessed the active participation of around 200 students, who gained knowledge, motivation & practical exposure to entrepreneurship. As a mark of recognition, participants were also honored with certificates from the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Govt. of India. The initiative not only promoted entrepreneurial awareness & skill development but also reinforced the vision of building a self-reliant, innovative & sustainable rural India.


Awareness Programme on Consumer Awareness in Telecom Services

School of Allied Health Sciences, VIMS Hospital Campus, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation-DU, Salem. The National Service Scheme, Young Indians Club & SAHS Youth Club, in association with the Citizen Consumer & Civic Action Group, organized an Awareness Programme on Consumer Awareness in Telecom Services on 08th July 2025 at Dr. ASG Auditorium. The event was graced by our esteemed Dean Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, who felicitated the chief guests & delivered an insightful address emphasizing the importance of mobile network awareness & consumer rights. Distinguished guests included Mr. J. M. Boopathy from the Consumer Rights Movement, Salem; Mr. Rtn. K. Padmanaban & Mr. Rtn. S. U. Gowtham from the Rotary Club of Salem Hill City; & Mr. Subramani Muthukumar from the Citizen Consumer & Civic Action Group, Chennai. Each of them delivered impactful speeches on consumer protection & rights. Additionally, Mr. B. Sendhilkumar, Lead District Manager, State Bank of India, Salem, addressed the gathering on banking awareness. As part of the program, the Citizen Consumer & Civic Action Group from Salem & Chennai recognized & awarded three students for their exceptional performances in the oration competition. The event witnessed the active participation of over 120 students and faculty members, who gained valuable insights into consumer rights and awareness. 


Cataract Awareness Month

Department of Optometry, School of Allied Health Sciences, Salem.As part of Cataract Awareness Month June 2025, the Department of Optometry, organized two inter-departmental Model and Poster competitions on the theme: "Know the Risks, Know the solution", The event was Inaugurated and key note address was delivered by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean & Director of School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU Salem.Around 65 teams  from various departments participated, showcasing creative and informative posters and models on cataract awareness and awarded with prizes.


Upskilling Specialization Programme" titled "Radsynapse25: The Art of Magnet and Beam

The Department of Radiology and Imaging Technology, School of Allied Health Sciences, VIMS Campus, Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation - DU, Salem, successfully organized the "Upskilling Specialization Programme" titled "Radsynapse25: The Art of Magnet and Beam" (Advanced applications in MRI/CT equipment) on May 30, 2025, at the Dr. ASG Auditorium. Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Director, presided over the program and delivered the presidential address. Ms. Indhu, Senior Clinical Application Specialist, Fujiflim Healthcare India, served as a resource person. Upon completion, certificates were issued to all participants by Fujiflim.  On this special occasion, the magazine highlighting the yearly activities of Radiology and Imaging Technology was released by the Director of SAHS and the Resource Person.



Blood Donation Camp

VIMS School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation-DU, Salem Campus. The Red Ribbon Club & National Service Scheme organized a Blood Donation Camp today to commemorate the memorial day of our Respected Founder Chancellor, Dr. A. Shanmugasundaram. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean & Director - Allied Health Sciences & was honored by the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Raveendran, MBBS, DCP, District Blood Transfusion Officer, Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College & Hospital, Salem. A total of 62 students, along with faculty members from SAHS, participated in the camp
