School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation-DU, Salem Campus,  SAHS &  5 TN Air Sqn (Tech) National Cadet Corp, Salem Organised INDIAN AIR FORCE DAY . The programme begins by the  Blood Donation Drive by the students of SAHS with the support of red ribbon club and Guest Lecture Programme , began with the traditional Tamil Thai Vazhthu, a cultural invocation that set the tone for the proceedings. Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean & Director of the School of Allied Health Sciences (AHS) at Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation – DU, Salem and chief guest, Group Captain. Mr. V. Muruganandam, the Commanding Officer of the Tamil Nadu Air SQN (Tech) NCC, Salem visited the Aircraft Model Display  which is done by the NCC cadets of SAHS and honoured them with the certificates. Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean & Director of the School of Allied Health Sciences (AHS) at Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation – DU, Salem, extended a warm welcome to the guest and audience. He highlighted about the AIR FORCE DAY and unit’s importance in supporting the institution’s mission to develop leadership, discipline, and a spirit of service among students. Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar noted that the NCC Airforce unit will offer cadets valuable training and skills beyond their academic studies, while embodying core values of patriotism, integrity, and commitment. He conveyed his pride in the institution’s role in nurturing future leaders and commended the collective efforts that led to the unit’s creation . chief guest, Group Captain. Mr. V. Muruganandam, the Commanding Officer of the Tamil Nadu Air SQN (Tech) NCC, Salem gave as a wonerful lecture about AIR FORCE .His presence added a sense of authority & significance to the event and  delivered an inspiring address, motivating the cadets and guests with his words of wisdom and encouragement. The successful celebration of INDIAN AIR FORCE DAY  at SAHS, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation – DU, Salem, was a testament to the institution’s commitment to excellence and unity.

We are pleased to announce the inaugural session of our Author Connect Lecture Series #1, focusing on an essential topic in modern healthcare: “Neoplasia: Principles of Cancer Biology, Including Tumor Classification, Progression, and Metastasis.” We are honored to have Dr.Rajeswari Kathiah, Head of the Department of Pathology at AIIMS, Madurai, as our resource person for this insightful session. With her extensive expertise in pathology and cancer biology, Dr. Rajeswari Kathiah will  have an interactive session that underpin cancer development and spread. The event is scheduled to take place on October 4th, 2024.

School of Allied Health Sciences at VIMS Hospital Campus, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation - Deemed to be University, Salem. We are proud to announce that the National Service Scheme, 5 TN Air Sqn (Tech) NCC, Salem, Environmental Students Club & Bhumi Club, in collaboration with the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, successfully organized the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign Programme 2024. This initiative included a poster making competition themed "Clean India Green India" & an engaging essay writing competition titled "Role of Youth in Swachh Bharat." We are proud to announce that 200 enthusiastic students actively participated in these events on the 23rd & 24th of September 2024 at the SAHS Campus. This campaign not only fostered creativity & awareness but also highlighted the vital role of youth in promoting a cleaner & greener India.

Say No to drugs – Anti Drug Awareness

SAHS Youth Club, National Service Scheme & Bhumi Club has organized Say No to drugs – Anti Drug Awareness & Pledge against Drug Abuse Programme at Aattayampatti Bus stand, Salem.  Student’s played a mime show about Say No to Drugs & anti-drug awareness programme. It was  a powerful & impactful way to communicate the dangers of drug abuse and promote a drug free lifestyle. Mr. Selvaraj, Tahsildar, Salem South read the drug abuse pledge in the presence of public & Students and notices were also distributed Cheif guest Mrs. Indirani, Inspector of Police & Mr. Thangaraj, Sub inspector of Police, Attayampatti Police Station, Mr. Rajavel, Revenue Inspector, Salem South, Mr. Saravana Kumar, Village Administrative Officer, Attayampatti & Mr. Manikandan, National Youth Volunteer, NYKS, Veerapandi Block, Salem were felicitated.  We are proud to report that the Awareness successfully reached over 200 people, including locals, commuters & shopkeepers. 

25th Kargil Vijay Diwas

School of Allied Sciences, Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation – DU, Salem.  5 TN Air Sqn (Tech) NCC, Salem & National Service Scheme organizing Photo Exhibition programme on the occasion of 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas (Kargil Victory Day) Silver Jubilee Celebration. Dean & Director Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, inaugurated the photo exhibition by cutting the Ribbon. Students presented the exhibition with 25 National Flag. Kargil Vijay Diwas pledge was also taken by the students & faculty. About 500 students visited the photo exhibition.

The Department of Public Health, Young Indians & National Service Scheme organizing Mime & Awareness talk on Global Population on the occasion of World Population Day 2024. Nearly 30 students were participated in that program and also pregnant women’s are attended awareness program. Students gave wonderful speech about  Global Population & they done script mime.

Good Deeds Day

Bhumi Club of School of Allied Health Sciences VMRF (DU), Salem. On the occasion of Good Deeds Day, students of SAHS have given thanksgiving cards to thank the community workers. Around 200 students and faculties actively participated in thanking the community and took photos of the same. Then, photos were pinned in the college. Good deeds was celebrated joyfully. This event aimed to instill a sense of gratitude and appreciation among our students towards the community workers who selflessly serve our society. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to acknowledge their hard work and dedication. The event was a huge success, and we are proud of our students for taking the initiative to express their gratitude. We believe that such events play a vital role in shaping the values and character of our students, and we look forward to organizing more such events in the future.

World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2024, The Environmental Science Club and National Service Scheme - SAHS & Bhumi Club and Department of Forestry, Salem District, TN Govt Organised the Cleanup drive from Yercaud Foot Hills to 60 ft Bridge and cleared the plastic waste of nearly 75kg. Chief guest for the program were: Kashyap Shashank Ravi, IFS., District Forest Officer, Salem Forest Division, Salem. Dr. Selvakumar, Ph.D Assistant Forest Conservator Salem Forest Division, Salem. Mr. Murugaiyan Range officer, Salem Forest Division, Salem. Mr. Dinesh, Mr. Manikandan, Mrs. Rukmani Forester, Salem Forest Division, Salem. The cleanup drive was a huge success, with the collective efforts of the students, faculty members, and government officials. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of preserving our environment and the impact of plastic waste on our ecosystem. The event also included an awareness program, where the guests emphasized the need for sustainable living and the role of the younger generation in protecting the environment. We hope that this initiative will inspire the community to take small steps towards a cleaner and greener tomorrow.

On International Women's Day, SAHS Youth Club, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Salem, and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India organized the "NARI SAKTHI FITNESS RUN-2024," a 500-meter running competition to celebrate the spirit of women empowerment and encourage fitness among women. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean and Director of SAHS Salem, and around 30 students participated. Winners were appreciated with certificates and medals from NYKS, Salem. Cleanliness Drive ECO- VU 2k24

We have organized a one-day Cleanliness Drive ECO- VU 2k24 at 1008 Shivalayam Temple, Ariyanoor Salem, to observe National Cleanliness Day and World Soil Day.60 students and faculties were actively joined, collected 250 kg (50 units) of garbage. Our Dean, Dr. B Sendilkumar, presided over the program and commended students' efforts.

As a part of the Republic Day Celebrations 2024, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2.O and National Service Scheme, SAHS Youth Club Jointly participated in Grama Sabha Meeting in Adopted Village - Periya Seeragapadi, Chinna Seeragapadi of Veerapandi Block, Salem District Tamil Nadu. The village President  presided in  Grama Sabha Meeting and asked People about their concerns and suggestions for the development of Village. To this end, the SAHS students and Faculties organized pledge programme about Voter's Day, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao & Drug abuse pledge.

This initiative was recommended by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India. We were privileged to have Honourable Dr. Kanimozhi.NVN.Somu, MP, Rajya Sabha, as our esteemed chief guest. The organizing faculty and participating students were recognized for their active involvement and received Certificates of Appreciation from the Secretary of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.

National Recycling Day and World Pollution Control Day 2023

 School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU Salem! On the occasion of National Recycling Day and World Pollution Control Day 2023, the Environmental Students Club organized a Recycling Drive near Aatayampatti police station on November 30, 2023. Our esteemed Dean and Director, Dr. B. Sendilkumar, inaugurated the drive with Mr. Bala Murugan, SSI of Aatayampatti police station. Approximately 80 students actively campaigned door-to-door, stressing recycling and proper waste disposal. They not only collected trash from local shops and residences but also demonstrated creativity by crafting innovative works from the gathered waste. Cash prizes were given for outstanding creations, and certificates were presented by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. R.S. Shanmuga Sundaram, Director-Students Welfare, VMRF-DU Salem, and Ms. Brindha, EVS Director, VMRF-DU Salem.

The National Service Scheme & SAHS Youth Club jointly with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Veerapandi Block, Salem conducted a “Meri Mati Mera Desh - Amrit Kalash Yatra 2023, Mati Ko Naman, Veeron Ka Vandan Campaign” event on 6.10.2023 at College Campus, Chinnaseeragapadi & Periyaeeragapadi Villages. Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Director, SAHS, VMRF (DU) inaugurated the campaign. The volunteer students of SAHS were collected soil and grain at campus & Seeragapadi Villages area. The collected soil was handed over to Mr.Tamilselvan, Incharge, NYKS, Veerapandi block, Salem. The Department of Forensic Science Technology and National Service Scheme in association with Salem City police organized the " No Drug Gala 2023" awareness Rally on the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Chief Guest Mrs. SP Lavanya DCP- Salem South, Mr. M Ravichandran Additional DCP Salem South, and Mrs. M Rani, Inspector- palla patti Police Station presided by Honourable Dean Dr. B sendilkumar. More than 150 students actively participated in the Gala from Salem' new bus stand to Suramangalam police station by creating awareness through different attractive costumes, Dance performances, Singing, and Drama in public. Pledge for World Drug Day has been taken by all the students at the end of the Rally.

Mr.Sathish  Zumba dance Asian trainer, Dr.Ashok Managing director of Saravana Hospital, and Mr.Sivaganaselvan, Rotary club coordinator felicitated the event as Guests. 300 participants actively did Yoga to spread awareness of the Importance of Yoga in our day today life.

Nearly 100 students exhibited their crafts from waste and photography in the competition. Honourable Dean & Director Dr.B.Sendilkumar sir presided over the event with Chief Guests Mr.Senthil Vinayakam, DEE, TNPCB, Salem.  Akbar Sheriff, AEE - TNPCB, Salem D. Ragunathan AEE - TNPCB, Salem and  P.Duraimurugan Forest Range Officer, Shervarayan South Range - Salem. Cash prizes and certificates to the winner and Runners were distributed by the Chief Guests. As a part of 50 th Anniversary celebration of the Endangered Species Act and also National Endangered Species Day 2023 and Bio-Diversity Day, For the very first time Salem, School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU has adopted 3 White Peacocks that are in peril at Kurumbapatti  Zoological Park, Salem. The adoption was done in the presence of Chief Guest Shashank.R. Kashyap. I.F.S, District Forest Officer, Salem.

Fire Fighters Day

NSS and Youth Club of SAHS, VMRF-DU. Mr. Udayakumar, Fire Officer from Attayampatti, and Mr.Settu, Fire Officer, Junction were felicitated by Prof.Dr.B.Sendilkumar, Dean-AHS on the occasion of firefighters day. Fire Officers gave a talk and mock drill on fire safety and protection to the students at SAHS Campus. Kudos to Dr. Dhanasekar for arranging this event.

The seminar was attended by students and Faculty of SAHS, VMRF-DU, and well organized by Dr.Dhanasekar, NSS Coordinator, and Mr.Srinivasan, Youth Club President.

World Sparrow Day

On the occasion of World Sparrow Day - 2023, under the theme of "I Love Sparrows" students of EVS club, SAHS, VMRF-DU, Salem prepared a bird nest, food feeder, and water feeder for the birds.  School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU, Salem.  WORLD WILDLIFE DAY-2023 was celebrated under the theme Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation during which an MoU was signed with Salem Nature Club and a rally was also organized to create awareness to stop feeding Wild animals. The rally was flagged off by Mr.Kannan, ACF, Salem, Mr.Madasamy, DCP, Salem North Zone, Salem, Mr.Gokul, Founder Nature Club, and Prof.Dr.B.Sendilkumar, Dean-AHS. Chief guests gave a session on the Importance of Wildlife conservation and appreciated students for their active participation. Students distributed pamphlets and explained to the Public the ill effects of Feeding Wild animals.

On the occasion of the Poshan Pakhwada Programme 2022, the National Service Scheme, SAHS Youth Club, Student Council Association, and Integrated Child Development Services organised a "Recipe Contest" on the theme of "Traditional Food for Mother and Child-Promotion of Millets for Dietary Diversity." 30 students from our college and 10 teachers from ICDS actively participated. National Road Safety Month- Stress Management

"Road Safety Week" is observed throughout the country every year in order to highlight and emphasize the need for safe roads. This year instead of "Road, Safety Week", a month-long campaign "National Road Safety Month" will be observed from 18th January 2021 to 17th February 2021.This campaign initiated by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways. The main aim of the observance is to create awareness of road safety to public and keeping in mind the increasing prevalence of deaths owing to road accidents.

On account of this, NSS Unit, School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (DU) jointly with Salem South Regional Transport Office & Department of Traffic Police, Salem (Dt) organized an awareness programme for students and drivers on 6th Feb 2021.

Dr.B.Sendilkumar, Director, SAHS delivered a Welcome Address and insisted about a “death ratio due to road accident & its reason and the importance of safe driving”. Mr.Saravanabhavan, RTO, Salem South RTO Office, Mr.Rajamani, Regional Motor Vehicle Inspector, Salem South, & Mr.Rajarajan , Traffic Inspector, Salem were invited as a chief & special guests of this program. They are delivered a special talk on “Importance of wearing helmet and seat belt, importance to follow the traffic rules and procedure to take vehicle license ,etc”.

Nearly 100 students, faculties, drivers were participated in this programme. At the end of the programme road safety pamphlets are issued to all the participants. The program was well organized by Dr.R.Dhanasekar & Ms.M.P.Varshini, NSS Coordinators, SAHS and Dr.Senthilnathan, Admin Manager, SAHS .
