World Population Day

Department of MPH and Young Indian club of  School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation, Salem, organized a community outreach program on World Population Day 2025 at the Primary Health Care Centre, Veerapandi. The event aimed to raise awareness about population control and its impact on health and society. UG students performed a powerful mime depicting issues like overpopulation, healthcare burden, and resource scarcity, while promoting family planning and responsible parenting. Public Health students delivered an interactive talk on population growth, contraceptive methods, maternal health, and small family norms. The session effectively engaged the local community. Dr. Ramya and Dr. Kamali, Chief Doctors at the centre, graced the event and lauded the students' efforts, stressing the importance of youth in public health advocacy. The initiative achieved its goal of community awareness and provided valuable experiential learning for the students. The institution remains committed to promoting public health through meaningful outreach programs.


National Statistics Day

School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU, Salem. On the occasion of National Statistics Day 2025, we organized a Workshop & Hands-on Session on Data Visualization and Analysis using SPSS on July 2, 2025, at Dr. ASG Auditorium. The event commenced with a presidential address delivered by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean & Director, SAHS, VMRF-DU, Salem. Our Resource Person, Dr. M. Ramji, Statistician, Dept. of Community Medicine, Velammal Medical College Hospital & Research Institute, Madurai, led the session. Over 120 students & faculty members participated, gaining hands-on experience in various data analysis & visualization techniques using SPSS.


World Blood Donor Day & World Sickle Cell Day

 Red Ribbon Club the School of Allied Health Science, VIMS Hospital Campus, VMRF-DU, Salem, successfully conducted a guest lecture program on  On the Occasion Of  “World Blood Donor Day & World Sickle Cell Day -2025”. Held at the Dr.ASG Auditorium  . The session provided importance of blood donation and the challenges of managing sickle cell disease. our Resource Person, Dr. S. Prabhagaran (MBBS, MD)Deputy Medical Superintendent & Consultant – General, Diabetology, and Geriatric Medicine, VIMS Hospital, Salem, who delivered an insightful lecture on the clinical aspects and public health importance of voluntary blood donation and sickle cell disease management. Our Convenor  Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar,Dean, School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU, Salem,who emphasized the role of youth in building a healthier society through active participation in blood donation drives .Totally 150 students were participated in that event and The Champion Award of 2025 continues Blood donation and Prize Distribution Ceremony was conducted during the Guest Lecture Programme in the presence of esteemed dignitaries. Medals, certificates, and gifts were awarded to the winners, encouraging them to continue their active contribution toward social awareness and health education.


INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING PROGRAMME

National Science Scheme and the Department of Forensic Science Technology, School of Allied Health Science, VIMS Hospital campus, VMRF- DU, Salem. In association with Salem city police and director of Health Sciences, are organised The Nasha Mukt Bharat Pakhwada Programme 2025. Successfully conducted a drug awareness program on the occasion of INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING PROGRAMME held at Dr.ASG Auditorium. The session that provides such the rising threat of drug abuse among youth and education institutes. Our resource person, Dr. Murali Assistant commissioner of police, Konddampattu range Salem,Dr. Aswath vetrivel Dist Tobacco Control Consultant Salem District, Mr. Gokul Health inspector Dist Health office Salem. Who delivered an insightful speech and lecture about the drug abuse awareness to the students. Our Convenor Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean & Director of School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU Salem. Who felicitated the chief Guest with a token of appreciation for the valuable presence and delivered a keynote address. A total of 150 students actively participated in the event, As part of the session, participants are encouraged to take a Drug Awareness Pledge, affirming their commitment to a drug-free life. The pledge reinforces personal responsibility, peer support, and the collective goal of creating a healthier and safer society. A major highlight of the event was the inauguration of the "Drug-Free Campus" board, symbolizing the institution’s stand against drug abuse and its dedication to creating a healthy learning atmosphere, the creation of the Tobacco Free zone along the campus road side, and the presentation of a powerful drug awareness short film by forensic science technology 3rd students which emphasized the emotional and social impact of substance abuse 



International Day of Yoga 2025

 School of Allied Health Sciences, VIMS Hospital Campus, Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation (Deemed to be University), Salem. In collaboration with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga MDNIY Ministry of Ayush Government of India we are delighted to share the successful organization of the “Harit Yoga – Yoga Demonstration” as part of the International Day of Yoga 2025 celebrations.  This event was jointly conducted by the SAHS Sports & Games, NSS, 5 TN Air (Tech) Sqn NCC & the SAHS Youth Club Under the leadership of our Hon’ble Chancellor, Dr. A. S. Ganesan, VMRF-DU, the Harit Yoga initiative integrated the practice of yoga with the values of environmental sustainability through a series of impactful activities. Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar proudly announced that a grant of ?2 lakhs has been sanctioned by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), Ministry of Ayush, to support various yoga-related initiatives. He also spoke on the importance of yoga in promoting physical health, mental well-being & a balanced lifestyle through regular practice. A special yoga session was led by Dr. Parvathi, Associate Professor at Government Arts College, Salem & an esteemed member of the Indian Yoga Association. A recipient of the prestigious “Yoga Ratna” & “Yoga Chakravarthi” awards, she guided participants through practical demonstrations of various yogasanas, which were met with enthusiastic participation from the students. Adding further depth to the session, Prof. Palaniappan & Assistant Professors Mrs. Jamuna and Mrs. Adaikala Mari from the Manavalakalai Mandram, Shri Vethathiri Maharishi Yoga Centre, Salem, offered insights and practical training on yoga techniques. In a powerful display of unity & awareness, over 1000 SAHS students came together to form a massive human 'Yoga Symbol' on SAHS campus, visually embodying the theme of the day. The event concluded with the distribution of Tree saplings to all participants, reinforcing the message of ecological responsibility. Complementing the main event, a yoga-themed poster competition & quiz were also conducted, with certificates awarded to the winners. The programme concluded with a collective yoga pledge taken by all attendees, marking a meaningful end to the celebration. 


World Environment Day

School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU, Salem,The Environmental Students Club organized Shop Smart, Live Green: Sapling Distribution & Plastic Awareness Drive event to celebrate World Environment Day 2025 under the theme of Beat Plastic Pollution held on June 5, 2025, at NH-47, Sankari Main Road, Salem. The event included activities such as distributing awareness pamphlets & saplings, providing "say no to use plastics" awareness to shopkeepers & public, displaying awareness flexes, taking a pledge to reduce plastic usage. The initiative effectively promoted environmental awareness & encouraged sustainable practices within the community


World Emergency Medicine Day

Department of Accident and Emergency Care Technology, SAHS, VIMS Hospital Campus, VMRF-DU, Salem We’re excited to share the successful celebrate of World Emergency Medicine Day 2025 & In - Hospital Mock Drill & Disaster Management Preparedness, held on  Tuesday, June 3rd, with impactful activities and energetic participation.
Event Highlights : In-Hospital Mock Drill & Disaster Preparedness Program.
This powerful simulation enhanced:
1. Real-time emergency response
2.Effective triage system
3.Crisis coordination
4. Team communication skills
 Scenario Summary:
 Total patients: 17 (with moulage wounds)
 2 patients were declared dead on the spot
 15 patients were successfully resuscitated and shifted to the Emergency Ward
 2 of them was immediately transferred to the Operation Theatre

No Tobacco Awareness Rally

School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU, Salem. We are delighted to share that our institution actively participated in the "No Tobacco Awareness Rally" on World No Tobacco Day 2025, in collaboration with the District Health Office – Salem. The event was presided over by our Honourable Dean, Dr. B. Sendilkumar, who felicitated the chief guests – Dean, Govt. MKMM College and Hospital, Salem; Chief Educational Officer, Salem; City Health Officer, Salem; and District Revenue Officer, Salem. The rally was flagged off by the dignitaries at the District Collectorate Office, Salem. Over 100 students and faculty members from our institution participated enthusiastically, spreading awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco through colorful costumes, placards, and dance performances. A special placard display marked the occasion, followed by a pledge taken by all students to stay tobacco-free. We sincerely thank all participants and collaborators for their support in making the event a success.


Hackathon 4.0

The E-Cell, IIC & EVS Club successfully organized Hackathon 4.0 in celebration of World Innovation and Creativity Day, World Intellectual Property Day, & World Earth Day. The program was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean-AHS, VMRF-DU, in the presence of Mr. Gurushankar Selvam, Project Lead, Startup TN Salem & Erode Regional Hubs. The event featured a mime show themed "The Jungle's Silent Cry," Creativity games followed by fun activities & Awareness sessions conducted by the intellectual property & innovation conducted by the chief guest. Students from various departments showcased innovative ideas focused on sustainable development, & winners were awarded prizes & certificates. We extend our gratitude to all participants & organizers for their contributions to the event's success.
