Dialysis Technologist Week

On the occasion of Dialysis Technologist Week – 2025, the Department of Renal Dialysis Technology, School of Allied Health Sciences, VIMS Hospital Campus, organized a Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Workshop & Kidney Health Models Expo on 15th October 2025.The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean & Director, School of Allied Health Sciences. In his inaugural address, Prof.Dr.B.Sendilkumar emphasized the vital role & responsibilities of Dialysis Technologists in the Nephrology Department. He also highlighted the challenges faced by dialysis patients & need for continuous awareness about kidney health & preventive care. The Chief Guest of the event, Dr.Senthilnathan G, MBBS.,MD(Gen.Medicine), DrNB (Nephrology)-Consultant Nephrologist VIMS Hospitals,Salem. He delivered an insightful lecture on Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) & Role of Technologists. His session provided valuable knowledge to students on the recent trends & advancements in CRRT. During the event, Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar inaugurated the 30-Hours CRRT Workshop & officially launched the Renal Dialysis Technology Department’s Instagram Page. Both dignitaries also visited the Kidney Health Models Expo, where innovative & educational kidney health models were displayed by students from various departments.In the Kidney Health Models Expo, the winners,

Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar distributed Prizes & certificates to the winners & participants, congratulating them for their creativity, scientific understanding & contribution toward kidney health awareness.The event concluded successfully with active participation, valuable knowledge sharing & renewed commitment toward improving kidney health care & dialysis technology practices.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF (DU), Salem.The Department of Radiology & Imaging Technology, SAHS, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (DU), Salem, organized a Pink Mask Walkathon, Signature Campaign & Awareness Hologram Video on 10.10.2025 at Salem Junction area to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Director, SAHS, VMRF (DU).The Pink Mask Walkathon was flagged off by Ms. Ramali Ramalakshmi, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Suramangalam Range, Salem. The rally began at Suramangalam and concluded at the same point via AVR Circle, with students enthusiastically participating and raising awareness through placards and slogans. Students wore pink-themed fancy dresses, symbolizing their support for the breast cancer awareness cause. Following the walkathon, a Signature Campaign and Awareness Video Display were organized at Uzhavar Sandhai, Suramangalam, Salem, further emphasizing the awareness.Pamphlets were also distributed to the public for better outreach and understanding of breast cancer awareness.



Indian Air Force Day

School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University), Salem. National Cadet Corps SAHS - 5 TN AIR SQN (Tech) NCC proudly organized the "Fitness Challenge – Fit to Fly”* on the occasion of "Indian Air Force Day" 2025.The event was conducted with great enthusiasm to honor the courage, discipline, and valor of the Indian Air Force. Around *350 students and NCC cadets* from various allied health departments actively participated in the fitness events, showcasing exceptional energy, dedication, and team spirit. The celebration commenced with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by the traditional Lighting of the Lamp by dignitaries, symbolizing enlightenment and positivity. Our respected Convenor, Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean, School of Allied Health Sciences, delivered an inspiring welcome address, motivating the students to uphold the values of service, discipline, and excellence embodied by the Indian Air Force. The Chief Guest of the day, Gp. Capt. V. Muruganadham, Commanding Officer, 5 (TN) Air Sqn (Tech) NCC, Salem, graced the occasion with his presence and delivered an insightful guest lecture emphasizing physical fitness, perseverance, and patriotism among youth. The highlight of the day was the *Air Defence Radar Sensor  Display*, innovatively presented by the NCC cadets, which demonstrated the working principles of radar surveillance in air defense. The display was met with wide appreciation for its creativity and technical understanding. The *Fit Challenge Competitions* added a vibrant touch to the event. Students participated in push-up, squat, plank, and running challenges, reflecting the theme “Fit to Fly.” Winners were honored with medals and certificates for their outstanding performance. The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving everyone with renewed pride and admiration for our nation’s air warriors. The “Fitness Challenge – Fit to Fly” truly captured the spirit of the Indian Air Force and instilled in participants the importance of fitness, unity, and dedication to the nation.


58th National Physician Assistant Day

The 58th National Physician Assistant Day – 2025 and White Coat Ceremony were celebrated on 8th October 2025 by the Department of Physician Assistant, SAHS, VMRF-DU, Salem. The event began with a prayer and lamp lighting, followed by a welcome address from Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean & Director, highlighting the importance of PA Day.  Mr. D. Kalaiarasu, Orthopaedic PA, conducted a workshop on Clinical Mastery in Orthopedics, sharing advanced practices and surgical insights. The White Coat Ceremony marked the clinical journey of PA students. Awards were presented for academic excellence and student achievements. A Laparoscopic Endo Trainer Model was contributed by the department to support surgical skill development.



World Ozone Day & World Lung Day

On the occasion of World Ozone Day & World Lung Day 2025, the Respiratory Care Technology Department and EVS Students Club organized an awareness event on September 24, 2025. The programme, inaugurated by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean & Director, featured a Mime Show, Awareness Talk, and Model Making Expo, with active participation of 230 students. The event highlighted ozone protection and lung health, inspiring students towards a healthier future.


National Librarian’s Day

On the occasion of National Librarian’s Day, the SAHS Library & National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Club, successfully organized a Lecture on “Libraries in the Digital Era” along with the Best Library User Award Distribution Programme.The event was held at Dr. ASG Auditorium, VIMS Hospital Campus, Salem. Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar delivered the Keynote Address, felicitated the Chief Guest, and distributed the Best Library User Awards to the staff and students. The Resource Person delivered an insightful lecture on “Libraries in the Digital Era”. The programme aimed to promote digital literacy, highlight digital resources in the field of Allied Health Sciences, raise awareness on higher education scholarships, and encourage effective utilization of library services. More than 100 students actively participated in the programme, making it a remarkable success.


National Sports Day

On the occasion of National Sports Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chand, the School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU, Salem organized various sports events on 29th September 2025. The following games were conducted with enthusiastic participation:

Volleyball – Men, Kho-Kho – Men & Women, Kabaddi – Men & Women

The event was graced by our Chief Guest – Mr. K. Elamparithi, International Athletic Coach, Salem SDAT Coach & Do or Die Academy Coach, Salem. He delivered an inspiring motivational speech, administered the sports pledge, and distributed the certificates to the winners. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the Overall Winners Rolling Trophy.


Women's Equality Day

School of Allied Health Sciences, VIMS Hospitals campus, VMRF-DU, Salem, We celebrated Women's Equality Day 2025 with great enthusiasm! The Gender Sensitization Cell, APEX SDG, and District Eco-SDG Champion 2025 organized an impactful Awareness Talk with the theme "For ALL Women and Girls: Right. Equality. Empowerment." The event began with a soulful prayer song, followed by the symbolic lamp lighting ceremony. Our Director, Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, delivered a warm welcome address, highlighting the significance of equality. He then honored our esteemed Chief Guest, Mrs. R. Karthiga, District Social Welfare Officer, Salem. Mrs. Karthiga delivered an inspiring talk, emphasizing the importance of equality in our society, and shedding light on critical issues like child abuse and child marriage. The event also featured a prize distribution ceremony for the winners of the Speech and Debate competitions, which was graciously handled by the Chief Guest
