E-Learning
E-learning involves asynchronous as well as synchronous modes of communication. A rather common and recurring description of the benefits of e-learning is the quantitative increase in numbers of students. The reason for the increase is said to be that teaching is not tied to a physical location, something that enables students to study almost regardless of their geographical location. As we know the advantages of E-Learning,we in SAHS insist all our students to actively take their online courses via two major platforms.
SWAYAM-NPTEL Local chapter:
The National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) – A Project initiative of IIT Madras, supported by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, offers an opportunity to undergo free online certification courses in Engineering, Humanities and Science streams.We are being a Local chapter in SWAYAM NPTEL.More than 400 students have actively enrollin different courses of their choice inSWAYAM-NPTEL to enhance their knowledge and to engage them technologically.Faculty have been also appointed as Mentors for SWAYAM NPTEL to guide the students whenever required. WORLD COUNCIL FOR OPTOMETRY:
WCO is another platform for department specific development to optometry students. The WCO Education Portal is resourced with education from institutions and individual experts around the world. Creating a network of Eyecare education enables to offer the widest resource of Eyecare CET available.Many of our students have enrolled wrote exam and received their e-certificates provided for a specific course. NATIONAL DIGITAL LIBRARY:
NDL is an initiative ofMHRD to develop a framework of virtual repository of learning resources with a single-window search facility. It is being arranged to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular form of access devices and differently-abled learners.Students/Faculty can access and refer huge number of books ,jornals and research articles from the depository of NDL. Young researchers/Faculty can be benefited with this depository since it contains a good number of thesis.They can access their learning Resource according to their subject of interest.All the students/Faculty of SAHS has their own login credential to access NDL.
