National Statistics Day 2025

The School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS), Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation – Deemed to be University (VMRF-DU), Salem, commemorated National Statistics Day 2025 by organizing a Workshop and Hands-on Session on Data Visualization and Analysis using SPSS. The event was held at the Dr. ASG Auditorium and witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 120 students and faculty members.
The program began with a presidential address by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean & Director, SAHS, VMRF-DU, who highlighted the significance of statistics in healthcare research and academic growth.
The resource person for the session, Dr. M. Ramji, Statistician from the Department of Community Medicine, Velammal Medical College Hospital & Research Institute, Madurai, conducted an engaging and insightful workshop. He guided participants through a range of statistical tools and techniques using SPSS software, with a special focus on data visualization, descriptive analysis, and interpretation of outputs.
The hands-on approach allowed participants to gain practical experience in applying statistical concepts to real-world data, thereby enhancing their analytical skills. The workshop was well-received and praised for its relevance and interactive nature.
The event successfully fostered statistical awareness and emphasized the importance of data-driven decision-making in health sciences and research — aligning perfectly with the spirit of National Statistics Day.
