The Red Ribbon Club of the School of Allied Health Sciences, VIMS Hospital Campus, VMRF-DU, Salem, successfully conducted a guest lecture on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day & World Sickle Cell Day – 2025. The event was held at the Dr. ASG Auditorium.
Our resource person, Dr. S. Prabhagaran (MBBS, MD), Deputy Medical Superintendent & Consultant – General, Diabetology, and Geriatric Medicine at VIMS Hospital, Salem, delivered an insightful lecture on the clinical and public health importance of blood donation and sickle cell disease management.
Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean of SAHS, emphasized youth involvement in blood donation drives. Over 150 students participated, and the “Champion Award – 2025” blood donation and prize distribution ceremony took place. Winners received medals, certificates, and gifts, inspiring continued commitment to social health awareness.
